Spring @ Wrightington?

Just a quick post, I fished at Wrightington yesterday in place of Conny who had to go down to Heronbrook. It was a really pleasant day, mild and overcast, superb conditions for a good days' fishing. It was good to see some familiar faces on the bank, Johny Mac, good to hear Joe's doing well, Boz, Scouser, Little Dave and a host of other nutcases :) It would be a laugh even if the fishing didn't live up to expectations, which it didn't, ha!
I drew on the match lake on peg 3, which had some form of late, next to Big Sam, so at least I had someone to natter to. Coyley was opposite alongside Dink then Clarkey before Boz and Scouser on the island flyers!
As you can guess it fished hard, and as I wasn't in the points league I chucked back at the end rather than wait for the weighers but I reckon I had about 8 lb or so. That was made up of three monkey wrench's and a shedfull of roach and small skimmers, I didn't have any carp but did have a brief tussle with a foul hooker which didn't last long. Most of the carp seemed to be boshing down the far end but even those lads only managed an odd one. I had all my fish on the long pole with maggot or bread on the hook, just one tinca fell to my corn on the bomb. Big Sam never had a bite so I'm thinking he probably went for big stuff but Andy Fairhurst on peg 6 landed four carp and word had it he had won the match with double figures. He had nobody to his right so he was chucking his bomb down towards the other end of the island.
All in all it was an enjoyable day and although there were no mega weights my float kept going under for most of the day. I had a brief chat to Paste-'ead today on the phone and he said that Fir Tree had fished hard too for the Sharks lads.
So that was that, if you went somewhere and caught a few drop us a line on 'ere and let us know how you got on.
Don't forget the Sharks meeting next week!
'Till then .... tight lines :)
